There is Weather in San Francisco

This year the RWA National Conference is being held in San Francisco. Although the actual conference doesn't start until Wednesday, people have been arriving since Saturday. What I'm finding so funny, is that everyone who has emailed, blogged, or posted, has made sure that everyone else is aware that it is actually cold in San Francisco and you need to bring a sweater.

So, for those of you who are from out of the state and who think that San Francisco weather is like LA: It's not. It's really just a coincidence that the two cities are in the same state. In fact, there was a time in the 70's (or 80's?) when they didn't want to be.

Here from San Francisco's website is a suggested packing list:
Layers, layers, layers. Even in the warmest months, San Francisco visitors should always bring a light jacket. Unexpected upswells from the deep and frosty Pacific Ocean and chilling blasts sweep over San Francisco without notice and can change San Francisco's weather in an instant. Overall, jeans, light sweaters, long sleeve shirts and close-toed shoes make up the typical San Franciscan's wardrobe, with the occasional voyeur daring a short skirt (pared with a heavy jacket) and sandals in the "summer" months.
So if you haven't packed yet, be sure to bring a sweater. Or two.
